Pros: With this application it is possible to manage billable hours efficiently by keeping track of all the projects, time spent on them, their clients etc. It is web based hence the administrator can access, view projects progress, receive updates, view team schedules and reports from anywhere in the world.

It is a multi user application, everybody enters data at their convenience and from wherever they are located. Close monitoring to avoid slippages and quick project reports turn around help quick turn around in billing and hence rise in profits. Project managers and administrators can monitor team schedules closely to avoid any slippages and thereby keep time as productive and billable as possible.

Source code all main forms and reports are made available to users to help customize them to better suit the need for your organization. The basic interface is quite user friendly, intuitive and easy to use. To help with the learning process further, several supplementary documentation such as project management guidebook, time management book and a mega audio library is provided. Several other tools, templates including those for agile projects are provided.

Whats very useful is the tracking of expenses. Mileage expenses for trips on projects are also tracked. Quite often they are billable and hence it is useful to keep track. Additionally one could track declined timesheets so that nothing fall through the cracks.

Pros: This is a timesheet application of course. But this includes billing automation, expense management, attendance automation, task management and overall project management functions. There is a hosted version also that is available. Timesheet management is totally automated and is web based. Approval process is well defined and automated. One is able to record all project related expenses. Project invoicing and billing for specific projects and customers are generated that takes care of not only time rated expenses but all other approved expenses. Time sheet and expenses management is configurable and one is able to customize the same to suit the need of the organization. Employee attendance is also integrated as it is a necessary adjunct to the time sheet data.

Task management and project management details are managed too and are integral part of the functionalities available. Project managers & team leads can have customized views of the project related data. E-mail notification make sure everyone is on the same page as far as project & expense issues are concerned. Customizable reports round out the functionalities. Audit trail functionality also is available. Source code is available for detailed customization.

Cons: Nothing adverse noticed.

Overall: Rich functionality and easy to use as well as extensive customization possible makes this package a 5 star piece.

Pros: Collanos is an easy to use voice-over-internet telephony software that boosts the entire computing experience by providing free of cost internet to phone calls. The interface is much similar to IM applications; only difference is its solid desktop-applications like frame. As you sign in Contacts, History and Dialpad tabs self-explain the functionality of Collanos. When adding contacts there are separate fields for landline and cellphone numbers of the buddies, their Collano, Yahoo!, Jabber, ICQ and AOL ids. User can sign in into all of the 5 protocols during a single session and corresponding online buddy lists appear on the screen for each protocol ID. Each selected contact has options for chatting, offline texts, SMS and most pleasing option to dial their mobile or landline numbers. Like all other IMs, Collano has an option for 3-way chat and voice conferencing. History functionality stores the entire record of events like dialed numbers, sent SMSes and chat logs. Pros: SimpleIndex is the perfect solution for small business and departments for document management. It has a command line interface too, to help developers integrate the document management solution with others to creates a organization wide application.

The application organizes scanned and electronic documents into a single database accessible from all desktops. Powerful barcode recognition and OCR search help finding index values without requiring them to be in a fixed place.

OCR template and dictionary matching help find date, customer name, invoice number and such other important information even if located at different place. That helps organizing office and PDF documents into a database quite easy.

A freestanding piece of the application SimpleIcversheet can be used to create a coversheet with the document index, the most critical information, anywhere in the set up. The Family Database 2009 stores your family`s information (or business info).

Pros: This application is essentially a database interface built on top of SQLServer Express. It lets you enter and manage a range of details about people. The package is positioned to be a database of contacts of people known to your family members. However it obviously can be used as a contacts database for your business contacts equally well. The details include besides name and address other details such as birthdays and e-mail addresses as well. The data-grid view provides a consolidated view of the database. You could traverse it, after selecting the table via mouse click, with the arrow keys or the tab key. A search functionality can search out a record in the database quite easily based on data in any one field. You get a view of the records found after the search. To get back to the regular view one has to refresh the display specifically. For entering the details for any contact one moves to the forms view which has text fields for every bit of data the package can store. Edit existing records through the same view too. Calendar view shows all the birthdays coming up in a consolidated view. The last tab enables generation of license key on registration.

Cons: Multiple fields for telephone numbers to include mobile/cell numbers and fax numbers also are required. Without this itll be difficult to use this application as a business contacts diary. Similarly one would expect reminders/alarms about the birthdays to be truly useful.

Overall: The application is essentially a replacement of the family address book. It has reasonable functionality towards that end. The application rates a 3 star.
